Dalby

Well known for being a farming region, Dalby is one of the few places in the world where it is possible to grow both winter and summer crops in the same soil, in the one year. The region is a major cereal and cotton growing area. The Dalby area has an Aboriginal population of approximately 1000 in the community. While enjoying the relaxed atmosphere of country living, Dalby is approximately 215 kilometers west of Brisbane and approximately 85 kilometers west of Toowoomba.

General Practice - Administration

The Dalby General Practice services administrative function is performed by a dedicated administrative team lead by the Chief Executive Officer and provides support in the areas of overall service delivery, finance, quality improvement, IT and human resource management.

General Practice - Clinical

The Dalby General Practice services are delivered by a dedicated team coordinated by a Clinic Manager and comprises of 3 General Practitioners (GPs) and 2 GP Registrars; Registered Nurses (5), Aboriginal Health Workers (4) and Medical Receptionists (3).

The Dalby Clinic is Australian General Practice Accreditation Limited (AGPAL) Accredited and currently undergoing preparation for International Standards Organisation (ISO) Accreditation.

General Practice - Chronic Disease

The Chronic Disease Program is coordinated by the organisations Chronic Disease Coordinator (CDC). The CDC ensures Client care is managed efficiently and effectively by accessing the organisations clinical teams or programs, meeting their pathology compliance through the on-site pathology lab (see our Services and Partnership section for more information) or being referred to the relevant visiting GP and/or Allied Health Specialist Clinics (see our Specialist Clinics section for more information). This role also involves working closely with the organisations Programs Coordinator, Medicare Officer and our Social Emotional and Well Being (SEWB) Team (see our SEWB section for more information).

General Practice - Programs

The Dalby General Practice Clinic Team is also supported by a Programs Coordinator (PC). The PC role is to coordinate program activities that compliment GP services and includes Sexual Health, Diabetes Program (Suga Shakers, Walking Group, Good Quick Tucka etc), Hearing Health and Health Promotion/Education Activities.

General Practice - Medicare

The Dalby General Practice Clinic Team is also supported by a Medicare Officer (MO). The MO role ensures that the organisation maximises its Medicare claims and that all eligible clients are registered for and receiving the benefits aligned to the Closing The Gap (CTG) initiative.

General Practice - Client Transport

The access to services is critical to ensuring Goondir's clients receive the appropriate care offered by the Goondir Clinic or Specialist Clinics. The organisations transport service is Queensland Transport Accredited with all Drivers (3) holding Authorised Driver Permits.
